DEcember Calendar

December is a busy month for us!  Hope you can join us for some festive events or homemade gift making.

Open studio times (indicated with a scissor icon) are available for you to bring own project (BYOP) or pick a project (or two!) from our GIFT-O-RAMA options.  You can read more about Gift-O-Rama below.

Links within the calendar will take you to the individual class details.

E-dacious Wheat and Dairy Free

image106

The holiday season will soon be upon us.  For those with food restrictions, they can be a difficult time as meals and snacks abound at every gathering.  Let E-dacious show you some great wheat, dairy and nut free alternatives to traditional dinner fare.  They'll be here on December 8 and December 12.  Learn more and sign up here.

December's Gift-o-rama

We're big on homemade gifts here at Common Threads.  So December is hands-down our favourite month as we can make gifts to show our love and appreciation to everyone we know.

We hope you feel the same way because instead of our usual selection of projects for you to learn to sew, we're offering a longer list of gift-worthy projects for you to pick from.

We're still here to help guide you through each project.  We still have all the supplies you need.  And you're still welcome to bring the kids with you if you can't find a sitter or want to include them in the making.

Most items take 1-2 hours to make so we're hoping you sign up to make more than 1 per open studio session for more gifting awesomeness.

Bring Your Own Project (BYOP)

We have various dates throughout the month for you to come and sew with us! There are evening, daytime and weekend slots. Our goal is to be flexible in our hours and project offerings!

If you need to bring the kids, you can! We have a sitting area, some books and toys to entertain them while you sew. Or you can involve them in the project!

You can bring your own project (that means supplies like fabric or specialty notions like zippers) and we’ll help you through it / show you how to use the sewing machine. We have big work tables too if it’s space you need! Experienced sewers will be on hand to help you out.

Examples:

  • Clothes that need mending or altering
  • Pillows you’ve been meaning to make
  • Curtains you want to shorten
  • Baby blanket you’d like to make for a new family member

COST: $15 +HST per hour or part thereof.
