Self Sufficiency for the Modern World

After School Programming

We offer after school programming for kids ages 6 to 12. You need to be in at least grade 1 for the school year to qualify.

We provide outdoor play time, bilingual homework help (Fre / Eng), snacks and fun activities centred around our 4 pillars: sewing, cooking, organization and money management. Given our activity focus, we aim for a teacher to student ratio of 1:7. Our program is limited to 15 kids.

We currently pick up from Earl Beatty, St Brigid and Gledhill.

The program runs from school dismissal to 6 PM, Monday to Friday, September to June. We also offer PA day and school break camps but these are offered separately.

Typical Month

Each month we vary our activities to build skills while still keeping it fun.  Each month we do a variety of

  • hand and machine sewing projects
  • bring home dinner (made by kids!)
  • baking to bring home (also made by the kids)
  • money lessons (we're following the Secret Millionaires Club for 2018/2019)
  • Neighbourhood adventure - map reading scavenger hunt
  • Other hands on projects

The full time program is $350 per month. This is for one child, 5 days a week.

Priority is given to full time inquiries. We will make every attempt to pair part time requests up so interested families can share a spot.
